Notebook is the private half of Research. The same editor, the same markdown, the same reading pane — with every control that pushes a note outward taken off. A note is a place to think, and a thought is not a draft of something you have promised to ship.
The note that explains the decision lives somewhere else.
It is in a scratch file, a chat message, a document nobody can find again. The reasoning behind a product, a persona or a prompt ends up further from that thing than any other artifact you produce. Notebook puts it beside them.
File it, find it later.
Nested categories
file a note as deep as it needs to go. The categories are the topic rail itself, not a flat list of folders.
Tags across categories
the cross-cutting label a tree cannot express, layered on top of the tree that can.
Your own storage
every note is written into your notes bucket, under the same permissions the rest of your storage answers to.
The research detail view
the editor and the reading pane you already know, minus the publishing.
Write it, file it, come back to it.
- Write the note in markdown, in the same editor Research uses.
- File it under a category, and tag it with whatever the category tree cannot say.
- Come back through the rail or through search. The note is in your storage, so it outlives the page you wrote it on.
